Put the numbers in the link
Every parameter is a link parameter; the link below opens the example part. ChatGPT, Claude or any assistant can write one like it from the parameter list (names, units, ranges) at: parameter list (JSON)
Pick your board — Raspberry Pi 5 by default — and get a two-part case laid out from the board's official mechanical drawing or STEP file. Every connector gets an opening open to the split line, so the lid drops over the ports; USB-C and micro-USB openings are sized for the plug, not just the socket. The board's own screws hold it on standoffs and close the lid, so there's no friction lid to work loose.
The real generator runs in your browser: set the parameters, then download STEP or STL. Nothing to install, no sign-up.
The first open downloads the CAD engine (about 20 MB).
Each parameter below rebuilds real geometry on every change — this is parametric CAD, not a scaled mesh.
| Parameter | Default | Range | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| BoardBOARD | Raspberry Pi 5 | Pi 5 / Pi 4 B / Pi 3 B+ / Pi Zero 2 W / Uno R3 / Uno R4 | Board outline, mounting holes and every connector come from the official drawings and STEP files. |
| Wall thicknessWALL | 2 mm | 1.2 – 3 | 2 mm like the most-printed cases. |
| Port clearancePORT_CLEARANCE | 0.5 mm | 0.2 – 1.5 | Kept all round each connector. Raise it for bulky HDMI, audio or DC plugs. |
| Header slots in the lidHEADER_SLOTS | on | on / off | A slot over the GPIO / Arduino headers for jumper wires. |
| Lid ventsVENTS | on | on / off | Slot vents over the processor. |
Every parameter can go in the page's link, so one link opens exactly the part you want. Example (Pi 4 case with thicker walls and roomier port openings):https://www.forgent3d.com/en/generators/raspberry-pi-case-generator?BOARD=Raspberry+Pi+4+Model+B&WALL=2.4&PORT_CLEARANCE=0.8
STEP AP214 in millimetres, exact B-rep — it opens directly in SolidWorks, Fusion, FreeCAD, Onshape or Inventor, and goes straight into a CNC quote form. STL for the slicer is one click too.

Press “AI edit” in the generator and say what to change — a keyway, holes, a different shape. The AI edits the part's model.py and it rebuilds in your browser, with undo. A few edits a day are free without signing in; to keep the result or go further, copy it into your models and continue with the AI agent.
Edit with AI →For bigger changes, several rounds, or a part you want to keep: copy it into your models (free account). The Forgent3D AI agent reads the model.py, edits it, rebuilds it and checks the result itself.
Copy and continue with the AI agent →Raspberry Pi boards: four M2.5 × 12 countersunk screws. Arduino Uno R3: four M3 × 16; the Uno R4 takes three plus a printed locating pin. They go up through the floor, the standoffs and the board into pillars in the lid. Friction-fit lids are the most common complaint on popular printed cases ("the lid is a bit loose"), so this one is screwed.
USB-C and micro-USB openings are sized for the plug overmold given in the USB specifications — a frequent complaint about cases with socket-sized openings is that micro-HDMI cables don't fit. HDMI, audio and DC plugs have no standard size: if yours is bulky, raise the port clearance.
PETG or better: one maker reports a Pi 5 softened a PLA base. Keep the lid vents on. The case also leaves 0.5 mm all round the board, because cases that hug the PCB have cracked boards during assembly.
Espressif's DevKitC boards have no mounting holes, and the many clone boards have no official drawing to work from. Pick the closest board and use “AI edit” to change it. Raspberry Pi and Arduino are trademarks of their owners; this generator makes compatible cases and is not affiliated with them.
Open https://www.forgent3d.com/en/generators/raspberry-pi-case-generator?BOARD=Raspberry%20Pi%204%20Model%20B — a two-part case laid out from the official mechanical drawing: every port gets an opening, the GPIO header a slot in the lid, and four M2.5 × 12 countersunk screws go up through the floor and the board into pillars in the lid, so the same screws hold the board and close the case.
Yes: https://www.forgent3d.com/en/generators/raspberry-pi-case-generator?BOARD=Arduino%20Uno%20R3&VENTS=false — USB-B and DC jack openings sized for the plugs, header slots in the lid, closed with four M3 × 16 screws. For the Uno R4 Minima or WiFi pick that board instead; one of its holes sits too close to the DC jack for a pillar, so it gets a locating pin and three screws.
